Eid, News
March 30, 2026

Almanaar recently hosted a special Eid lunch at Khans to celebrate and appreciate the incredible efforts of its staff and volunteers throughout Ramadan. The gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on a month of dedication, community spirit, and service. The event began with a heartfelt opening led by Othman, the youngest individual to have led Taraweeh at Almanaar, a remarkable 12 year old whose contribution throughout Ramadan was a source of inspiration for everyone present. This was followed by remarks from Almanaar’s CEO, Abdurahman Sayed, who acknowledged the collective efforts of the team and highlighted the importance of unity, service, and community engagement that define Almanaar’s work. Mustapha Shoaibi also delivered a short speech in which he recognised the efforts of the management team at Almanaar. He specifically mentioned Abdeslam, Abdurahman and Houcine, highlighting the challenges and responsibilities that come with managing such a busy and active centre. He spoke about the level of organisation required behind the scenes and expressed appreciation for the structure, leadership, and dedication that keep everything running smoothly. Abdeslam also shared a few words, expressing his sincere gratitude to all staff and volunteers. He emphasised that Almanaar would not be able to deliver the level of service and community support it does today without the commitment, passion, and selflessness of its volunteers, recognising them as the backbone of the organisation. A particularly touching moment came from the youngest employee at Almanaar, Afnan Aziz, who delivered a sincere and uplifting speech. Reflecting on her first Ramadan at Almanaar, she described how the centre becomes more than just a place, it becomes a home for the community. She expressed deep gratitude to the staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts, from organising prayers and iftars to the unseen work that ensures everything runs smoothly. She also highlighted the challenges of serving others while fasting, praising the patience, generosity, and commitment shown by everyone. Afnan extended special appreciation to the centre manager, Abdeslam, recognising his dedication, kindness, and the positive impact he has on those around him. She noted his willingness to support others and his ability to make people feel valued and heard, emphasising that his efforts do not go unnoticed. The event concluded with heartfelt prayers for all those who contributed during Ramadan, asking for their efforts to be accepted and rewarded. The Eid lunch was a fitting end to a blessed month, bringing together the Almanaar family in gratitude and celebration.
